We are proud to support a number of charities and we do this by hosting some amazing events across the year.
We started this year by taking ‘Time for a Cuppa’ to raise money for Dementia UK. Our total was £164.50 from a bake sale with everybody baking (and eating!) the cakes and buns.
Since then we’ve raised £140 for NSPCC with a bring and buy sale and homemade lunch thanks to Karen, which we made a small donation for. We played superheroes for the day for Hallam FM Cash for Kids, supported Red Nose Day and Children in Need and had a wonderful Macmillan Coffee Morning which raised a staggering £211.
Perhaps our most unusual event was our Bikeathon which saw us install an exercise bike in reception and several members of staff cycle 182 miles over two working days. It was particularly pleasing to see the team spirit that was evident to achieve our goal and we raised a fantastic £343.90 for British Heart Foundation.
Sarah Barsby Marketing and HR Director commented; “2019 has been another fantastic year and these charities all mean something to different members of the team. Every time we do something it really is a team effort and my thanks go to everyone for their support and commitment to making these events happen.”
The team will conclude the year with collecting Christmas gifts for children as part of Mission Christmas, an initiative by Hallam FM as part of its Cash for Kids campaign.
In total, the team has raised in excess of £1095.00. What can we achieve next year?!
