Designed to prevent attempted suicide by ligature affixed to an object trapped between door and frame, the Intastop Alarmed Hinge alerts staff when it detects a weight of over 2 ˝ stone (15.9 Kg), also detects upward pressure on door, i.e. jemmying of objects underneath, yet prevents false alarms by persons tampering with the door, such as pressing on the door and doorstop.
The Intastop Alarmed Hinge ensures privacy in bedrooms with en-suite facilities that cannot be remotely monitored and where mental health trusts have resorted to cutting short and angling the tops of en-suite doors, with resultant water and odour problems. |
